How Long Should The Account Stealing Hack On Roblox Last One

1. An essay describing the recent hack attempts on ROBLOX users BADGRAPHIX and Jmanfh, why this issue occurred, and who i believe is the person responsible for this, according to my investigations.
2. As suggested by Ben Simon, all ROBLOX links have an extra archive link as well, just incase they are removed.
3. Part 1 - The hack
4. On April the 16th, both users BADGRAPHIX and Jmanfh had their accounts compromised in a hack attempt [1]. They had their limiteds deleted/transferred, their group ROBLOX Talk vandalized and their passwords leaked on the ROBLOX Talk forum by a most likely password guessed 08 account, Riking28 [Source for this is missing, but Riking28's account is banned at the moment, possibly for leaking their account info]. The hacker remains unknown, but it is clear that whoever got into their accounts wanted to get limiteds, and make a statement against ROBLOX Talk. Since both BADGRAPHIX and Jmanfh were high up in the ROBLOX Talk group and had a couple of limiteds, their hacks are confirmed to be a targetted attack - the hacker knew who they wanted to hack. I will discuss who i suspect as the hacker in part 3 of this essay. Still though, what remains is that both of these accounts were compromised.

11. Part 2 - The aftermath

On the 17th of April, the ROBLOX Talk forum was suddenly shaken up by users Craxty and hjo337, claiming that the ROBLOX+ browser extension was breached, and thousands of login data were retrieved by an unknown hacker. They got this information from user Diddleshot, the leader of the popular building group Pinewood Builders. He posted a status update which claimed that ROBLOX+ was breached [1]. The forums went crazy about this, and lots of people started removing ROBLOX+ from their browsers. Then all of a sudden, a couple of fake accounts started appearing on the forums, claiming they had released a list of 6600 accounts they took from ROBLOX+ data [2], plus an excerpt from the ROBLOX+ source code that they claimed would send login data over to a server [3]. I investigated this situation and found that the account list was an exact copy of an older account list from June 2015, but had nothing to do with ROBLOX+ [4]. The so-called source code was from a scam item notifier extension, but also had nothing to do with ROBLOX+ [5]. A third fake account by the name of noahdeniston8 suddenly appeared, with a topic blaming ROBLOX+ for the hacks of both BADGRAPHIX and Jmanfh [6]. Looking at this person profile makes it clear that he has not been online in a long time [7] - therefore, it is most likely that a user guessed his password to go on the forums with it and post the mentioned post. Eventually, ROBLOX+ creator WebGL3D proved this was fake, and even released the source code for ROBLOX+ so people could see for themselves [Source was removed after the ordeal with Diddleshot and WebGL3D was settled].

22. In this case, there are two really obvious culprits who are believed to have performed the hack on BADGRAPHIX and Jmanfh, but we can narrow this down to only one. The culprits i have investigated include WebGL3D, or the person who has 'hacked' R+. Since WebGL3D successfully proved that ROBLOX+ has not been breached and that it does not save user data, this option can be ruled out easily. But that leaves us with a big unanswered question - why was WebGL3D being framed by all these fake accounts? Someone went far enough as to retrieve fake account lists and source codes and use them in WebGL3D's name, and even stole the account of user noahdeniston8 to support this without seeming suspicious. This brings us to user murcury57. I have been able to report shady activity regarding his account. Not to mention murcury57 has the right motive to do this - he is known to be a scammer and he is known to hate ROBLOX Talk furiously, as a lot of incidents have happened where he was the centerpoint. It is also known that he has claimed to be quitting ROBLOX Talk, as he was botting recently [1] to get his account deleted - unsuccessfully, though. This verifies he wants to end with quite a bang, as an account deletion is certainly a big thing. As he hates ROBLOX Talk, he has a motive to vandalize their groups and leak their passwords. It is also rumoured that he performed this hack either using a browser extension, or by using brute forcing. murcury57 has written a browser extension for BLOX City, a social avatar-type site similar to ROBLOX. The source was released [2], but this extension does not seem dangerous at all. BADGRAPHIX has said that he did not install any malicious software, either. This rules out this possibility. The possibility that murcury57 has written a brute force bot or another account stealing bot is still there, though. He certainly has the coding experience.
23. Now there is also his alternate account HelmCollector. Various forumers have made statements saying that this is indeed one of murcury57's accounts. On the day of the hacks on BADGRAPHIX and Jmanfh, this account has had a name change to MasterOfLoss, to seem unsuspicious. It has been revealed that murcury57 wrote an extension, and he claimed to have written this extension along with HelmCollector [3]. The strange thing is, HelmCollector was found to be his alternate account. In the earlier days this account was active (around April the 8th), it was found that HelmCollector was used to swap over various limited items to and from murcury57. In fact, if we search up HelmCollectors username in the user search bar, we can find that this account was last online on the day that the hacks happened [4] - murcury57 would have no need to do this, since HelmCollector is merely an alternate account and his main account was fine at the moment. Even more so, looking up both their usernames on rbx.trade reveals that the value and RAP of murcury57 has only gone upwards since April the 16th [5], and the value and RAP of HelmCollector had a large spike on April the 8th (proof of them trading out items with eachother), and has only dropped since April the 16th [6]. Combine this with the fact that both BADGRAPHIX and Jmanfh are both missing items on that exact day from the hacks - it is not confirmed wether BADGRAPHIX actually had items traded, though - we can safely state that murcury57 has somehow breached their accounts, transferred their items over to HelmCollector, then gave them out to his account murcury57. Where the limiteds currently are remains unknown, safe to say they may have been sold already. There is yet another odd thing murcury57 has done - he deactivated his Twitter account when the hacks of BADGRAPHIX and Jmanfh were made public [7].

35. This part of my essay is not really based on any strong sources - it is merely based on statements of other people and my own. How ridiculous this theory may be, it does a good job at explaining the odd activity surrounding murcury57, and links it to other topics i have discussed before in this essay. I will try my best to sum my theory up in a bullet list, so you can take this information in easily.
36. - murcury57 is done with ROBLOX. He has done many things wrong (ex: hitting on and harassing female forumers, blackmailing and manipulating people, ruining friendships, scamming, botting) and is being called out for it. He is planning to quit the ROBLOX community alltogether, and leave no traces of his behavior or any way to have himself confronted with this ever again.
37. - He decides to go out with a bang. He targets both BADGRAPHIX and Jmanfh, as they have various limiteds and are directly related to the ROBLOX Talk forum.
38. - He prepares an alternate account to unsuspiciously transfer items to, this alternate account being HelmCollector/MasterOfLoss
39. - Both BADGRAPHIX and Jmanfh get hacked in a way unknown to anyone. They are missing limited items afterwards. As proved earlier, the value and RAP of his account murcury57 mysteriously skyrocket.
40. - As a coverup, murcury57 blames WebGL3D and his browser extension ROBLOX+. He claims it is breached, and login data is in the hands of a hacker. User Diddleshot seems to think the same, and a widespread rumour is born. (NOTE: Diddleshot could be rumoured to have been hacked by murcury57 as well, but this is not the case. He has most likely stumbled on the hacks of BADGRAPHIX and Jmanfh and come to the same conclusion as murcury57's coverup.)
41. - The coverup takes the ROBLOX Talk forum by storm. murcury57 takes advantage, and soon enough, fake accounts start popping up who state certain things that support the coverup. They start posting fake hack lists to fuel the fear against ROBLOX+ even more, even though with some googling, this can easily be debunked. (NOTE: even without solid proof, this is an odd one. A gigantic service with thousands of users gets breached, and only two people directly related to murcury57 get hacked? This just doesn't work out.)
42. - murcury57's plan is most likely to make it seem like BADGRAPHIX and Jmanfh were breached in the ROBLOX+ hack, and get away with it. Still, he is caught by various RT'ers swapping limiteds with his alternate account HelmCollector.
43. The shady behavior surrounding his account, and the fact that he has a motive to be the hacker of BADGRAPHIX and Jmanfh make me believe that he is in fact the one who is responsible for all of this. Still though, this is up to the ROBLOX moderators to decide, as they are the only people who can check who logged into their accounts and find out if it was murcury57.
